This 2021, from Telice we have been working on improving the LiDAR point cloud processing software integrated in our tCat unit, refining it, and adding new automatic calculation functionalities that our users demand.<\/p>\n

Today we focus the blog article on one of these new additions: the automatic calculation of the REFOS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

REFOS<\/strong> is a geometric parameter that locates the catenary pole with respect to the reference system that defines the track axis and the running plane\/TOR.<\/p>\n

There is a consensus in the sector for its definition, with two alternatives being established:<\/p>\n

\u201cHorizontal distance between the inner face of the rail closest to the pole, and the face of the pole facing the track\u201d<\/em> (REFOS 1 in the picture below).<\/p>\n

\u201cHorizontal distance between the track axis and the face of the post facing the track\u201d<\/em> (REFOS 2 in the image below).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

When working with the LiDAR point clouds generated by tCat, a series of assumptions must be made to cover all possible casuistry (poles with their footing above or below the running plane, platform gantry poles, etc.), so that:<\/p>\n
