LIDAR TEST OF TCAT IN ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
Since the beginning of March, Telice‘s tCat team has been carrying out measurement tests of the contact wire with the LIDAR system. The tests were performed on a railway section without traffic in the vicinity of León.
These tests, designed to calibrate the LIDAR component integrated in the tCat® equipment, were done simultaneously with corresponding measurements of the contact wire height and stagger by the conventional method (by means of a ruler and a laser meter).
The tests were a great success, not only because of the PRECISION of the measurement obtained, but also because the ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS in which they were implemented, RAIN and SNOW, make it possible to predict a great reliability of the final system in all the usual conditions on the railway site.
